We already saw this with the original TLOU Naughty Dog game, which was made available on the PS4 in July 2014. The Last of Us Part II is still without a launch window and looks to be a perfect candidate for bridging the generational gap. PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios will be at E3 and having already confirmed that upcoming titles like: Death Stranding from Kojima Productions, Ghost of Tsushima from Sucker Punch, Marvel’s Spider-Man from Insomniac Games, and The Last of Us Part II from Naughty Dog, will be included.Īnd while all of these have only been announced for PS4, it seems likely that a few will be ported over for the PS5 release date. It’s taken a long time for H1Z1 to make it to PS4, having seen a steep drop in player numbers on PC following the launch of PUBG and Fortnite. In terms of modes, Combat Training, Solos, Duos, and Fives will all be available to play starting with Open Beta launch on Tuesday, May 22. The PS4 version differs from the previously launched PC version, as it features a reworked user interface that allows players to grab and equip gear rather than having to go through multiple menus and some gameplay tweaks that result in a faster-paced experience.The good news for players is that the H1Z1 open beta will be free-to-play and will not require PlayStation Plus. It features a similar gameplay loop to other games in the genre, as players parachute into the map with nothing and have to search for weapons, ammo and supplies as they attempt to be the last player to survive. The open beta for H1Z1 allows players to try out the game's competitive multiplayer in its full glory. This is despite H1Z1 releasing on Steam Early Access back in 2015 (prior to both games).
These numbers are a huge success for Daybreak Games, as their battle royale hasn't proven to be as popular as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite on PC.
